Green tea from Hadong, south Gyeongsang province, is different in its taste and fragrance from tea grown in other places, as it grows with morning dew in a bamboo forest, with adequate precipitation and sunlight, an official said.
Hadong is a beautiful town on the southern slope of Mount Jiri National Park surrounded by the Seomjin River.
As Hadong's natural conditions are suitable for tea plants to grow, they propagated spontaneously and now comprise the biggest wild tea plantation in South Korea, with an area of 578 hectares, accounting for more than one fourth of the country's total tea plantations of about 2,000 hectares.

Hadong Wild Tea is dated back to 828A.D. (in the reign of King Heungdeok, the Silla Dynasty), when Daeryeom-gong, the Korean envoy to China, brought tea seeds from the Dang Dynasty and planted them here in Hwagae-myeon, Hadong.
Hadong Wild Tea is known for its quality as it is cultivated under the heavenly environment for tea: fertile earth with well-draining gravel, high mountains, deep valleys, clean water of Seomjinggang River, big daily temperature gap at the harvest season, and the foggy weather.
The county of Hadong is pleased to invite you, parents and children and lovers.
