Haemodynamics   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-21)
Haemodynamics is the branch of science that describes how blood flows.
The physical principles of haemodynamics is a specific example of the general principles of fluid dynamics and the equations of blood flow and general fluid flow are identical.
For the purposes of haemodynamics it is the physical properties that are of specific interest.

Critical Care | Full text | Early CAVH improves haemodynamics in sepsis
However haemodynamic deterioration is still often worse before haemofiltration is introduced in the clinical setting when compared to this animal study, which may well explain why human studies on the same theme have been so disappointing.
However, there has been varying results in different animal models of sepsis, and failure to show an improvement in haemodynamics may be because of the model used or because haemofiltration was introduced too late during the course of sepsis.
Although late haemofiltration does reduce FCS activity, its lack of effect in improving haemodynamic variables may be explained by lack of reversibility of FCS to the myocardial cell.

The calculations of the haemodynamic components are essentially the same as previous reports (Chen et al., 1996; Chen and Hu, 1997; Hu et al., 1994; 1997).
These pulsatile haemodynamic components reflect mainly the changes in viscoelastic properties of the aorta and large arteries, and are referred to the Windkessel functions of cardiovascular system (O'rourke, 1982; Chang et al., 1990, 1994; Chen et al., 1996; Chen and Hu, 1997; Hu et al., 1994, 1997; Su et al., 1999).
It is not certain the extent of influence of anaethesia on the haemodynamics of oestrogen.

Haemodynamics, physiology, shock, clinical measurement and theraputics in critical care
The function of the cardiovascular system is to deliver oxygen to the tissues and to remove waste products, transferring them to the kidneys, liver and lungs.
Each of these has a different haemodynamic profile and consequently a different management strategy.

Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery: Venous haemodynamics in both legs after total knee replacement   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-21)
Comparison with changes in blood flow after total hip replacement identified different patterns of altered haemodynamics suggesting that there are different mechanisms of venous stasis and thrombogenesis in hip and knee arthritis and during surgery for these conditions.
Our aim was to determine the effect of TKR on the venous haemodynamics in both legs in the first few weeks after operation.
Before total hip replacement the arthritic limb was found to be significantly different, suggesting that arthritic disease or limb dysfunction caused by hip arthritis alters venous physiology.
