The recorded history of the Hagerman Valley goes back a little more than 150 years, beginning about the time some of the Oregon Trail immigrants stopped over in the Valley to rest in the shade of the trees growing along the many streams and pools fed from cold springs gushing from the lava-rock cliff faces.
