The Space Shuttle Columbia Disaster happend on Saturday 1st, February, 2003 and was the second Space Shuttle Disaster and the first shuttle lost on landing.
Columbia (Flight STS-107) was on a 16-day science research mission in Earth orbit which performed experiments in space.
Columbia was the oldest space shuttle in the fleet of four.

"Hail, Columbia" was the unofficial national anthem of the United States until its replacement in 1931 by the officially mandated "Star-Spangled Banner".
It was originally composed by Philip Phile in 1789 for the inauguration of George Washington, titled "The President's March", arranged with lyrics by Joseph Hopkinson in 1798.
It is now the entrance march for the Vice President, similar in function to Hail to the Chief for the President.
