		The commission has asked the government for immediate posting of two senior officials in the district as additional deputy commissioners so that the repolling could be conducted in a free and fair manner, Sarma said.

	Assam court issues notice to BCCI
		Hailakandi (Assam), March 31: A district court here has issued show-cause notice to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) asking why it should not be directed to stop all financial grants to the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) for allowing its affiliate units to initiate legal proceedings against the board.
		The show-cause notice was issued by civil judge M Rahman on a petition moved by Hailakandi Cricket Association, which is an affiliate of the Assam Cricket Association.
		Observing that there was a prima facie case in favour of the petitioner, the judge, however, refused to grant any injunction, but fixed the matter for hearing on April 7.

		Though the Assam government has stuck to its original stand that the deaths were not related to Vitamin A given to over 28 lakh children in the age group of 0-5 on November 11, official sources said the deaths were related to the dose.
		The district-wise break-up of the deaths is: Cachar (one), Karimganj (two), Hailakandi (two), Nagaon (six), Kokrajhar (three), Nalbari (one) and Goalpara (one).
