		Yes, Hakko Ryu is derived from Daito Ryu, as is Aiki Ju Jutsu, Aikido, Daiwa Ryu, Kamishin Ryu etc. Daito is one of the oldest established styles of traditional Ju Jutsu.
		I studied Dentokan for almost a year, which is Hakko Ryu in everything bar name and is taught in a more liberal fashion than the majority of today's Hakko Ryu dojos.
		My undestanding is that Hakko Ryu is a much more subtle variation on Daito Ryu, although perhaps not as subtle as Aikido.
