Hal Blaine (born Harold Simon Belsky on February 5, 1929 in Holyoke, Massachusetts) is an American drummer and session musician.
Blaine is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In 1965 the Beach Boys and Dean Torrance of Jan and Dean recorded an ad-libbed cover version of the Regent's 1950s hit song "Barbara Ann." (It was released as a 45 rpm single and on the "Beach Boys Party" LP in 1965).

Steve was one of the folks who said it was Hal Blaine, and the impression I got from his post was that he got his info straight from the Hal's mouth.
Someone else said TTT appears in Hal Blaine's discography, but I'm not sure what their source for that was (the song is not listed on Blaine's website).
Hal has mentioned many times how he used to go in to the studio to "fix up" already recorded drum tracks...sometimes, going right "over" the existing one because it wasnt on a seperate track that could be erased, in the 4 track days.

I looked on Steve Hoffman's Hal Blaine link and the discography only went to 1971 so I don't know if he played drums on a tune that perhaps came out after that year.
Hal Blaine, however, has said that he thinks he played Surfin' USA.
Another track I suspect Hal Blaine playing on is Taos, New Mexico by R. Dean Taylor (That may not be the correct spelling).

There are two recording sessions of "Top of the world" The 1972 version featured in "A song for you" album and the 1973 version who was released as a single in that year.
Hal played the drums on both sessions, but the 1972 was produced by Jack Daugherty and the 1973 by Richard and Karen.

At one point in Hal's life he was so busy that he had 8 matching drum kits in his inventory to make sure that he always had a drum kit ready for his next job.
Hal was a member of the Wrecking Crew as they were called in L.A. It did not refer to a band, but a group of studio musicians that were supposed to be wrecking music as we knew it in the late 1950's.
