Television comedian Norman Pace is to join the cast of the West End show Chicago - but he insists he isn't leaving partner Gareth Hale.
Despite the failure of Hale & Pace's most recent series for the BBC, h&p@bbc, he insists the duo will continue to work together.
Pace's agents, who also promote West End musicals, suggested he look at the part, which will involve him performing eight times a week.

Hale & Pace, the spoof-dangerous comedians, whose humour has a definite, albeit tongue-in-cheek, 'edge' are returning to Australia.
These personas are prevalent in many of the sketches of Hale and Pace featuring similar hard-men, caricaturing the sort of psychopathic gangsters who were prevalent in the British films of the late 1990’s.
Among Hale and Pace's other best-known personas are the children's TV presenters Billy (Hale) and Johnny (Pace), deadbeat cabbies Jed and Dave, money-conscious evangelists Nathan and Jeremiah, the brainless Curly and Nige and, latterly, the Road Rage Milko.

I always think that Hale and Pace could have avoided this confusion by, instead of calling themselves Hale and Pace as they apparently chose to, choosing to be known as Moustache and Not Moustache.
I think, though, if Hale and Pace had called themselves Moustache and Not Moustache this would have made most of their routines turgid and embarrassing and long winded and shit.
Pace, on the other hand, looks a bit like a teacher who thought he was funny at the end of the year and used to get up and do a turn which involved miming to a Status Quo record whilst wearing a funny wig.

Hale and Pace were on every sunday night at 10pm from 1988 to 1997 but since then they seem to have been forgotton.
Hale and Pace were brilliant right up to the time their Sunday night show tailed off.
I seem to recall Hale and Pace being reasonably funny in the Radio 4 show Don't Stop Now, It's Fundation, but I don't know whether perhaps pictures were their downfall, or whether it's just that I grew up enough to despise them, but by the time their tv show started, I couldn't stand them!

Crude, rude and clever with a bouncy pace, I was bopping away in my seat along with most of the crowd, having a great time and minimizing my chances of contracting deep vein thrombosis all at one stroke.
At first mistaking the audience to be full of students, I discover after a quick visual survey that here, too, are the silver heads of people who had seen the original in the late seventies, but if they were expecting the original soundtrack they don't look too disappointed.
