Hall County is named for Warren D. Hall, a secretary of war for the Republic of Texas.
In the county, the population is spread out with 27.20% under the age of 18, 6.80% from 18 to 24, 22.10% from 25 to 44, 22.40% from 45 to 64, and 21.50% who are 65 years of age or older.
