		Hallam FM, formerly known as Radio Hallam, is a Sheffield-based Independent Local Radio station.
		The station broadcasts on three frequencies in the area: 97.4 FM (Tapton Hill), 103.4 FM (Clifton, near the M18) and 102.9 FM (Ardsley) in Sheffield, Doncaster and Barnsley respectively.
		Emma Wasden left Hallam FM on 31st July 2006 to join Bolton's 107.4 Tower FM on drive.

		My particular branch of the Hallam family originated in this manor of Hallam, and migrated to villages locally (West Hallam, Mapperley, Kirk Hallam), and moved with their work, particularly in the mining industry, which was prevalent around this area of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
		The name is familiar from such usages as Hallam Moors, the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Hallam University, Hallam FM Radio, Hallam Arena and as a parliamentary constituency.
		The village of Hallam was totally annihilated in a singular act of vengeance by William the Conqueror's army in 1069, three years after the Battle of Hastings, in revenge for the uprising of the northern earls.

		If I remember correctly the Rotherham transmitter is much older than the Barnsley or Doncaster ones and may have been in existence from the very beginning (Hallam is one of the oldest ILR stations).
		According to the Ofcom tech parameters Leicester Sound runs at 5 kw and 106 Century FM runs at 8 kw making Leicester Sound the station with less power (although the frequency is cleared for 8kw).
