They went to Luoma farm the following year, and in 1850 the family moved to Haapasalo, to the side of the village that borders on Halsua, the crown residence.

 Dancing
The success wasn't so great (we didn't qualify for the second round) since I learn't some of the ten dances of Kunkkukisat during the preceding week :), but we had fun and that experience gave me a sparkle to continue.
This time we were in the finals for the beginners class, but didn't qualify for the second round in open class.
Soon after Halsua I met Kaisa with whom I also started to dance with and train for competitions.

After few years boys grew up, their voice changed and so the choir got its first tenors and basses.
Originally all the boys were from Veteli but in recent years boys from neighboring areas like Evijärvi, Halsua, Kaustinen and Teerijärvi have also joined the choir.
Over the years the choir has grown into one of the largest boys´ choirs in Finland with the present amount of 70 singers.

Finnish fiddler Otto Hotakainen (1908-1990) came from Halsua, in central Ostrobothnia.
By the 1970s he had become a recognized star of the Finnish folk fiddling firmament (no small feat in a nation of incredible fiddlers), and his compositions were considered among the best written.

1840: Andrew "Antti" Storstrang (the grandfather of grandfather Matt Kangas) was born in 1840 in Halsua, Finland.
His mother married a man named Korkiakangas, and Andrew adopted the name of his step-father, later altering the name to "Kangas." 18??: Andrew "Antti" Kangas married Maria Lehtimaki of Halsua, Finland.
They moved to Vimpeli where Andrew was known as "kaupa unti" or "Store-Andrew" and he operated a general store with another man. 1860: Anna-Lisa Peltokangas born in Finland on October 6 (mother of our grandfather Matt Kangas) 1861: Erkki Kangas was born September 5 in Vimpeli (father of our grandfather Matt Kangas).

A bit older Pasi (maybe only physically?) didn't make any mistakes (only 1min for a WC-trip) and had time of 30.08 in a 5,9km - course.
I have to wait and see if someone is still faster in Halsua...
Ran with Juulianna, Eetu and Topi for some 15km in the middle and then made some faster running to home (4,75km on small paths 18.30).

Ilmenite is an iron-titanium mineral, which is for instance raw material for the titanium pigment used by the paint and paper industries.
