		Halver was elevated from commune to town status in 1969 and continued to use its old arms, granted to the commune in 1935.
		Both a flag and a banner are in use, red-white with the arms in the centre.
		The linden tree and the stone 'justice bench' are a symbol for the foundation of a local court in Halver in 1243.

		For more than 500 years Halver was the seat of a Fehmic court, the earliest definite evidence of which is in 1243; it ceased to exist in 1753.
		This court was most famous because of the trial of duke Henry XVI the Rich of Bavaria-Landshut and the knight of Toerring on May 2, 1430.
		It combined elements from the two member municipalities Halver and Schalksmühle: in the upper part is a linden branch symbolizing Halver, in the bottom the upper half of a fl mill wheel as the symbol of Schalksmühle.

		Halver Lorenzo Stemson was born Sept. 16, 1916, to Ole Edwin and Clara Marie (Aldahl) Stemson in Lansing Township, Mower County, Minnesota.
		Halver grew up on a farm in Lansing Township and attended country school there.
