Topic: Hamidur Rahman

 BANGLAPEDIA: Rahman, Hamidur
Hamidur Rahman was born in Dhaka in 1928.
Hamidur Rahman himself practised it briefly in the 1960s, but was never quite given over to this or any other particular style.
During the language movement of 1952, Rahman played the leading role in creating a design for the shaheed minar that, in its essential simplicity, is poignantly evocative of the passion of the Bengali nation.

When Hamidur Rahman's mother told a teacher her son could not eat peanuts, that should have been enough to prevent his life being put in jeopardy by a peanut butter eating challenge on a school excursion, a coroner has found.
Hamidur had been aware he was about to participate in a peanut butter eating competition but went ahead to please his peers and conform, she said.
But Hamidur's parents, Siddiqur and Rokeya, also made "a critical error" when they had failed to have his allergies properly diagnosed and relied entirely on a homeopath for the management of their son's severe medical conditions, including asthma.

While the school was informed Hamidur couldn't eat peanuts at camp, the Deputy Coroner expressed her shock that this information was not passed onto the teachers on duty the night he died, after tasting peanut butter given to him by a teacher during a game.
Unfortunately at the time of his death, Hamidur Rahman, his family or his school had no idea of how potentially fatal his food allergy could be.
