Alexander Hamilton was born on January 11, 1755, in the British West Indies on the island of Nevis.
Hamilton became Washington’s aide-de-camp, and rose to become the equivalent of a modern-day chief of staff.
Hamilton recognized that the only means of survival lay in the creation of a strong national government – replete with meaningful organs of administration and powers of taxation, war making, and judicial authority.

Hamilton now led a group of eight cavalrymen which included Captain Henry Lee, and was about to burn the mill at the small village of Valley Forge when two sentries fired warning shots from their posts.
Hamilton had no choice but to swim to the other side of the river whereafter he wrote to John Hancock, President of the Continental Congress, the British had potential to be in Philadelphia that evening.
Hamilton would spend the remainder of the winter at Valley Forge in Washington's Headquarters at one of the homes of Isaac Potts, next to where he experienced the near deadly encounter with green-coated British dragoons the previous autumn.

Washington had suggested to Hamilton, that if he were to form it anew, it would of course "assume such a shape" as Hamilton was "disposed to give it," but always "predicated upon the Sentiments" which Washington had furnished.
Hamilton knew, as Madison had before him, that whatever he might do in reshaping, rewriting, or forming anew a draft, the results should be "predicated upon the Sentiments" which Washington had indicated.
He had recognized that Washington would be the final judge, and considered his own part in the undertaking as an affectionate act, without putting upon it the least suspicion of restraint.

Hamilton was among the most intellectually gifted of the Founding Fathers, rivaling in ability his arch foe, Thomas Jefferson, but he lacked practical political experience and failed to win support for many of his most cherished ideas.
Hamilton's childhood was spent on the edge of poverty first on Nevis, the smallest of Britain's Leeward Islands, and later on St. Croix in the Danish Virgin Islands.
Although not recalled to the staff, Hamilton was given the command of a battalion of elite light infantry for the 1781 campaign.

Hamilton was very deceptive and dishonorable in his dealings with other government officials, discrediting some of his contemporaries in order to see that his plans, ideas and policies were successful.
When Burr read statements published by Hamilton to the effect of: he is "a dangerous man and one who ought not to be trusted with the reins of government", it was the final straw.

Hamilton, who served as one of three New York delegates to the Constitutional Convention, had spent years pondering the issues the delegates would confront.
In the first of the essays, Hamilton set the stage for those that would follow, proclaiming that "the vigor of government is essential to the security of liberty." The essays were churned out at a remarkable pace, especially considering the rational, learned, and eloquent defense of the Constitution that Hamilton and co-writers developed.
Hamilton's course of action, delivered to the House of Representatives in his "Report on Credit" of January 14, 1790, was threefold.

Hamilton denounced Burr as "a man of irregular and unsatiable ambition … who ought not to be trusted with the reins of government." The denunciations seem to have been largely ignored by Burr until this last defeat.
Hamilton was apparently opposed to dueling following the fatal shooting of his son Philip in a duel in 1801.

Hamilton recruited John Jay and James Madison to write a defense of the proposed Constitution, now known as The Federalist Papers, but he made the largest collective contribution (writing 51 of the 85 that were published).

The Hamilton Program has become well-known in the Congress and in a variety of executive agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Snowpack synopsis snow showers Thursday and Thursday night deposited varying amounts of new snow with most areas over the Olympics and Washington Cascades receiving an additional 2 to 4 inches of new snow with the Mt Baker area receiving significantly more at about 12 to 16 inches.
Below the recent snow received over the past 36 hours ranging from 5 to 10 inches over most west slopes areas, 15 to 20 near Mt Baker and 2 to 4 inches over the east slopes, a generally settled and stable snowpack structure exists in most areas.
Also, surface hoar has likely developed overnight, especially along the east slopes and this may be of concern after the loading expected with the approaching storms over the weekend.
