Line facts - Transport for London   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-02)
The Piccadilly line is principally the legacy of one of the great pioneers of tube railways, the American entrepreneur, Charles Tyson Yerkes.
The original Piccadilly line, which was opened on 15th December 1906, consisted of 15.3 km (9.5 mile) twin tunnels from Finsbury Park to Barons Court and a short section of surface track on to Hammersmith.
The Piccadilly line was the first of the deep-level tube lines to be converted to oneperson operation (August 1987), where the operator drives the train and controls the operation of the doors.

 CULG - Piccadilly Line
Thus Finsbury Park became the terminus of the line and, despite increasing congestion of road traffic, the GNR and their successor the LNER refused consent for any extension for many years (they also did the same to the Great Northern and City Railway, described under the Northern Line).
The original layout between the tube mouths (at Barons Court) and Hammersmith had the Piccadilly tracks on the north side of the District; both this section and the tracks westwards to Acton Town were now rearranged, with the Piccadilly Line running between the District tracks.
Though the line is described as east/westbound throughout, the section from Cockfosters to Holborn was formerly known as north/southbound, and evidence of this remains in old signs and the platform numbering.

Choosing one boat or one cruise line over another is somewhat a matter of taste, though Princess may have the best reputation and history for accommodating their disabled passengers.
My advice is to directly ask the cruise line of your choice about their policy and either they, or you, will need to determine the laws at your various ports of call.
Although it may sound extreme, and certainly unfair, in addition to talking to the cruise line before the trip, you may want to call the port authorities at each of the stops along your route to ask about their equipment.
