Arden is a district in Warwickshire, England, near Stratford-upon-Avon.
Also, probably in reference to the Shakespearean Forest of Arden, a Forest of Arden figures prominently in the Amber series of novels by the late Roger Zelazny where the forest surrounds the City of Amber and is a necessary crossing to get there, usually well guarded.
It was formerly heavily wooded, as the Forest of Arden, the setting for Shakespeare's As You Like It.

The Stonebridge Railway opened in 1839, was downgraded to a branch line in 1840, losing its final passenger service in 1917 as a wartime economy measure.
