		Dalam kepartaian, Hamzah Haz sekarang menjabat sebagai Ketua Umum Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP).
		Pada Pemilu 2004, Hamzah Haz dicalonkan sebagai calon presiden oleh partainya, PPP, berpasangan dengan Agum Gumelar sebagai calon wakil presiden, namun ia kalah dengan perolehan suara hanya 3%.
