  Han Seung-Soo (Republic of Korea), President of the Fifty-Sixth General Assembly
Han Seung-soo, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea, was elected President of the fifty-sixth session of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2001.
Han was an adviser to several public and private sector organizations, including the Bank of Korea, the Korea Export-Import Bank, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Federation of Korea Industries.
Han was educated at Yonsei University and Seoul National University, and obtained his doctorate in economics from the University of York in 1968.
