Zheng Yin’s instruction in the esoteric arts emphasized the manufacture of the "gold elixir" or jin dan, which he considered the only truly significant means to achieve transcendence.
Zheng Yin was the pupil of Ge’s granduncle Ge Xuan, who was in turn the pupil of the well-known Han occultist (fangshi), Zuo Ci.
Ji Han wrote the "Rhapsody on Cold Victual Powder", which lauds the effectiveness of a drug, popular with the literati during the Six Dynasties era, as well as a tract, entitled "Description of Herbs and Plants of the Southern Region" that is no longer extant.

Han Zheng, a graduate with a Master's Degree in Economics from East China Normal University in 1994 and a senior economist, was born in Cixi County, Zhejiang Province in April 1954.
Han then served as secretary of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) Shanghai Committee, governor of Shanghai Luwan District, deputy secretary-general of Shanghai Municipality and director of Shanghai Development Planning Commission until February 1998, when he became a member of the standing committee of the CPC Shanghai committee and Vice Mayor of Shanghai.
Han was elected Vice Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Committee in May 2002 and became Executive Vice Mayor in October the same year.
