Handley Page Victor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Handley Page Victor was a British jet bomber aircraft, one of the 'V bombers' intended to carry Britain's nuclear arsenal.
During the Borneo conflict of 1962-66, two Victor B Mk 1A bombers flew the Victor's only offensive mission.

Handley Page HP.88 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Handley Page HP.88 was a British research aircraft, built to test the aerodynamics of the Handley Page Victor design and was essentially a scaled-down version of that aircraft.
The HP.88 had the Victor's crescent wing and T-tail, and first flew on June 21 1951 at Carnaby near Bridlington.
The aircraft had little time to gather useful information, but the loss of the aircraft was of little significance to the V-Bomber project; two prototype Victors were nearing completion by the time of the HP.88's first flight.

 The Handley-Page Victor
The Victor was arguably the most unconventional of the three, at least in hindsight, but it proved very successful, persisting in service into the 1990s in the tanker role.
In 1963, Victors were redeployed to Singapore in response to Indonesian hostility to Malaysia.
Handley Page had conducted technical studies on the matter from 1967, but the company went under in 1969, and the contract for the upgrades was awarded to Hawker Siddeley in 1970.

 HANDLEY PAGE VICTOR - HISTORY
Handley Page, after the success of their wartime Halifax bomber, soon looked at new designs for better bombers and a tail-less swept wing aircraft was one of their pet projects.
Handley Page's test pilots had fun with their new aircraft - after test flights over the North Sea they would often 'forget' to tell Air Traffic they were coming back, which they did at maximum speed and altitude in a dead straight line for the UK.
The cancelled Victors were now proving to be a costly mistake; the tanker force was at the edge of its capability and the K.1As were nearing the end of their useful life.
