Hands Across the Sea is a patriotic military march composed in 1899 by John Philip Sousa.
The 1st trio repeat carries a piccolo obbligato and the Gradioso carries both the obbligato and a low brass counter-melody.
Hands Across the Sea remains as one of Sousa's more popular marches, and is still performed widely by bands.

"Hands across the Sea" was an exhibit of more than 175 medallic sculptures in bronze, brass, copper, and nickel-silver by award winning artists from the American Medallic Sculpture Association and The Museum of Medallic Art in Wroclaw, Poland.
While the coins we use every day are sculptures struck in metal by the millions, the pieces in this exhibit were hand produced in extremely limited numbers or, in some cases, as one-of-a-kind works of art.
The "Hands across the Sea" exhibit was on display at the ANA Money Museum until January 31, 2002.

Kuang-Yu Fong, Stephen Kaplan, Chuang-Tsain Li, son of the late Li Tien Lu (the most famous hand-puppeteer in Taiwan) and an unidentified friend at the I Wan Ran Hand Puppet Troupe's private museum in Taipei, Taiwan.
In January, a troupe of Chinese hand puppet performers from the Xiao Xi Yueng Company of Taipei were in town performing at the Maison Francaise.
I sent out word to the NY puppetry community and arranged for them to get free tickets to sold out performance.I also helped translate and acted as go-between for the company members and inquisitive American puppeteers after the show.
