Hanna-Barbera Productions Inc ("Hanna-Barbera") complained that this was identical or similar to its trade mark Scooby-doo and sought transfer of the domain name under the Nominet Dispute Resolution Service ("DRS") policy.  At first instance, a single expert found for Mr Hay and Hanna-Barbera appealed.
The Nominet Appeal Panel orders a Scooby-Doo fan site to be transferred to Hanna-Barbera Productions Inc. and lays down important rulings on the nature of Nominet DRS appeals, fan sites and the "without prejudice" rule.  Hanna-Barbera Productions Inc. v Graeme Hay.
However, if the domain name is identical to the name in which rights are asserted by the complainant without any addition, and the tribute site is unauthorised, the burden shifts to the Respondent to show that the domain name is not an abusive registration.

This fizzled, and in 1957 he reteamed up with his old partner Joseph Barbera to produce the series The Ruff and Reddy Show, under the company name H-B Enterprises, soon changed to Hanna-Barbera Productions.
Hanna and Barbera were placed in charge of MGM's animation division in late 1955; this was short-lived, as MGM closed the division in 1957.
Hanna started his career in 1931 when he learned that Leon Schlesinger Productions, producers of animated cartoons for Warner Bros., were hiring staff.

With the recent passing of William Hanna, it makes me wonder about the future of Hanna-Barbera Productions, but if the product being cranked out for the Cartoon Network is any sign, the company will be in good hands.
Through Hanna-Barbera Productions, over the years we've been granted such classics as The Flintstones, Yogi Bear and Scooby Doo.
William Hanna and his partner Joseph Barbera are essentially the godfathers of the modern weekly animated television series.

 The Flintstones
The Flintstones helped establish Hanna-Barbera Productions as a major Hollywood animation studio and by the late 1960s as the world's largest producer of animated entertainment films.
Citing the difficulties children might have in distinguishing cartoon characters from the products made in their likenesses, critics attacked the practice of advertising vitamins to children, and such ads were withdrawn in 1972.
Because of the lowered cost and the appeal of animation to children, limited animation became the format of choice for children's television in the 1960s, a decade in which children's programming became almost entirely animated.
