The Legacy of Hans Ruesch   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-06)
Hans Ruesch was the first person to propound uncompromising abolition of vivisection on medical grounds.
Hans Ruesch remains a breath of fresh air in an atmosphere that keeps hitting the walls because of massive vested interests, even within the anti-vivisection movement, which purports to work for animal rights and welfare.
Hans Ruesch remains critical of the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV), which replaced its excellent journal, The Abolitionist, with the lame publication Animal Welfare.

Ruesch's study reveals to laymen that inflicting injuries on animals in order to produce symptoms similar to those found in human disease, can never duplicate those same symptoms when they are produced spontaneously from conditions within a sick human body.
Their flunkies (according to Ruesch) include many persons strategically placed in animal protection associations who continue, despite the evidence (and almost certainly for a price, or other benefits), to promote the exposed and discredited lie as if it were not exposed and discredited.
Ruesch has been for many years a highly esteemed client of mine, because I am a lawyer specialized in international copyright law and in that capacity I have negotiated for him various contracts for the sale of the movie rights to some of his books.

Apparently, he is a fanatical disciple of anti-vivisectionist Hans Ruesch, who somehow, despite all his brilliant exposure of the uselessness and horror of animal experiments, has managed to attract a kind of crazy worship from a bunch of social misfits.
Ruesch put the question of 'ethics' to one side, and attacked animal experimentation from a scientific and medical viewpoint, demonstrating in great detail how these experiments are both useless and dangerous: in fact that we could best look after both 'our children and our dogs' by abolishing vivisection altogether, and immediately.
Ruesch's outspoken attacks on the antivivisection establishment, which he thought had become extensively infiltrated by the vivisection industry, created bitter divisions, shock waves whose ripples are still being felt today.

Not much mention of Hans Ruesch is made these days, even on animal rights sites and e-mail lists, but Ruesch's 1978 book Slaughter of the Innocents had a major influence on the animal rights movement's anti-research agenda.
Ruesch's book was originally published in Italy, before being published in Great Britain and the United States.
Ruesch has always claimed the book was "suppressed" by its publisher, Bantam, which let the book go out of print citing poor sales.

Vivisection is not only an unspeakable crime within itself but it is the basis of virtually all environmental and human pollutants on earth and its industries (particularly the petro chemical and pharmaceutical industries which vivisect 150 million animals a year) are fundamental in causing war and bringing about the end of life on earth.

Woven into the verbal fabric of Hans Ruesch's masterly SLAUGHTER OF THE INNOCENT are some of life's wisest lessons, lessons from which human-kind has foolishly chosen to avert its gaze for far too long.
Not only is vivisection a savage assault upon the animals it so pointlessly decimates and desecrates then uncaringly discards, but it is equally guilty of the slaughter of humanity (in every sense of the term) as a consequence of its cruel inapplicability to meaningful human medical research.
It is 20 years since SLAUGHTER first appeared in Hans Ruesch's own English version in 1978 (this remarkable Swiss polyglot writer and researcher had originally published it in Italian two years before).

 PRISM - Chapter 2
Swiss medical historian and author Hans Ruesch explained it this way in his book NAKED EMPRESS, or The Great Medical Fraud: "A mechanical heart can not work satisfactorily for long, because the natural heart is sensitive to all the fine psychosomatic influences and the complex metabolic processes constantly taking place in any living organism...
But a mechanical heart keeps pumping at a constant rhythm, regardless of the perpetual emotional impulses emitted by the-nervous system and the fine metabolic variations...
It is not surprising that after some success with the artificial heart in animals, it was a complete failure in humans.
