Along with Mary Wigman and Gret Palucca, Kreutzberg was among the leading protagonists of a new dance movement in the 1920s - 30s.
Kreutzberg then toured the U.S., Canada, and Europe with the dancer Yvonne Georgi, and in 1932 he joined Ruth Page for tours of the U.S. and the Far East.
For the remainder of his concert career, he performed primarily as a soloist; his inventive choreographic style combined free dance movements with such elements of the theatre as mime and pictorial costuming.

At the same time, Harald Kreutzberg was one of the primary representatives of contemporary German culture abroad ("...he brings the modernistic influence of German art here..") - and this during the Weimarer Republic, the Third Reich and the first several decades of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Although the most comprehensive picture of Kreutzberg possible should develop, there are two lamentable gaps, which originated after the respective authors "jumped ship" at the last minute and their themes could not be dealt with at such short notice by others.

Kreutzberg’s Phantastic Waltz (to Chopin) was a treasure of wit, drama and an undercurrent of melancholy.
Kreutzberg punctuated waltz passages, which demanded fast, delicately deployed skipping feet, with short, concentrated images.
Since the piece was choreographed in 1941—he was allowed to perform during the third Reich as long as he made work that was easily accessible—one wonders whether maybe the piece’s wild, at times almost desperate circle patterns didn’t contain a note of subversiveness.
