Harbor Island is a man-made island in the mouth of Seattle, Washington's Duwamish Waterway where it empties into Elliott Bay.
Harbor Island was made from 24 million yd³ (18 million m³) of earth removed in the Jackson and Dearborn Street regrades and dredged from the bed of the Duwamish River.
Harbor Island lost its title as the world's largest artificial island in 1938 with the completion of Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay, at 395 acres (1.60 km²).

Harbor Island is located at latitude 46 degrees 03' and longitude 083 degrees 46' in Potagannissing Bay north of Drummond Island, Chippewa County, Michigan.
Excluded on Harbor Island are the sand beaches and low dunes found on the north shores of Lake Huron along Michigan's upper peninsula.
Harbor Island, and the entirety of Potagannissing Bay, is an important stop-over for migrating waterfowl, hawks, shorebirds and passerines traveling in a southeasterly or northwesterly direction.

A Virginia energy conglomerate yesterday unveiled a plan to turn Outer Brewster Island in Boston Harbor into a $500 million liquefied natural gas terminal, the fourth LNG facility proposed along the Massachusetts coast in the past year.
For decades, environmentalists and recreation advocates have battled to improve the condition of the harbor islands, several of which have hosted dumps and industrial facilities, and to increase public access to them.
The facility would occupy the north side of the island, mostly invisible to residents of Point Allerton in Hull, 2 miles to the south.
