Proud to be Hard of Hearing
I wish I were hearing because then I would be very proud of myself but the thing is, I'm hard-of-hearing.
When I first came to Murry Bergtraum High School I didn't know anything about sign language or communication with deaf people, but now it is not difficult to sign and communicate with the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing.
To be Hard-of-Hearing means to have a difficult or hard time hearing, not like hearing people.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services
Deaf and hard of hearing (D/HH) students are similar to any other students that come to college; however, there are specific issues regarding communication needs that must be accommodated.
A Deaf or Hard of Hearing student should visit the Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) and request an appointment with the Coordinator of D/HH Services.
The student is responsible to verify his/her hearing loss by providing medical documentation from a physician or a licensed audiologist including a recent audiogram and report.

 Manatees hard of hearing
Their most acute hearing was at about 17 kilohertz, with threshold intensity of 50 decibels.
In contrast, at 0á5 kilohertz the threshold was about 50 decibels higher-meaning that a sound had to be 100 000 times as intense before the animals could hear it.
For some time researchers and conservationists alike have been trying to figure out why Manatees are so frequently hit by motorized watercraft.
