  CMT.com : Hardfloor : Biography
Forming in 1991 as the German acid and techno scenes were just beginning to solidify around artists such as Sven Vath, Pete Namlook, David Moufang, and DJ Criss, Bondzio and Zenker came together at the behest of a mutual friend.
The former already an established DJ and the latter a successful studio producer, Hardfloor released the 11-minute "Acperience" single soon after deciding to inject a bit of bombast into the German scene.
Hardfloor remix credits include Mike Oldfield, the Shamen, and Mory Kante, and both Bondzio and Zenker also release their own and others' material through their respective Jakpot and No Respect labels.

See, Hardfloor have been coming in for a bit of stick of late.
From the massive squelching acid-fest that was 'Hardtrance Acperience', through the cunning re-working of said track as 'Trancescript', on to the 'TB Resuscitation' LP and varied 'Funalogue' EP, up to last year's epic and hugely popular 'Fish & Chips'/'Mr Anderson', their sound has shifted and changed.
And Hardfloor is a thing where I can take the house elements with some techno elements.

 MTV.com - Hardfloor
One of the most popular and well-known German techno artists, Hardfloor is comprised of Oliver Bondzio and Ramon Zenker.
Although the pair recorded briefly for the Eye Q label, most of the group's work has come out through Sven Vath's influential Harthouse imprint, including a number of full-length releases and a consistent schedule of 12-inches and EPs.
Although the pair have since evolved from the more simplistic floor-movers of their earlier work, incorporating elements of hip-hop, electro, breakbeat techno, and post-acid house styles like trip-hop and intelligent dance, the group remains committed to the smoldering edge of acid, with 909 and 303 sounds comprising the lion's share of their recognizable sound.

 HARDFLOOR
HARDFLOOR'S history stretches back to 1991, when the two were introduced by a mutual friend at a club.
Huge success did follow though and as a result Hardfloor took to the road, rapidly becoming one of the most popular live acts in Germany.
Recent triumphs in the do-over department include their blistering re-working of Mory Kante's 'Yeke Yeke', injecting more bounce to the ounce in the floor stakes than is medically advisable.

Forums - Hardfloor - an appreciation
Just wanted to say how much I love Hardfloor, both because of their production, and because I love their attitude — they're two Germans who are clearly OBSESSED with their Roland TB-303s and the squeaky acid noises they make.
So Hardfloor make me happy, the funny German twats that they are.

This rare white label vinyl is a mash up between the Hardfloor remix of 'Yeke Yeke' and Punjabi MC's 'Mundian To Bach Ke', with the structure of Yeke Yeke being retained whilst Punjabi MC lends additional vocals and bass line.

Where the duo does bring in the funk more directly via rolling beats instead of acid pulses, it does so with more clatter and slop than before, as on the breaks that make up the enjoyable "Double-Steal," drones and cries slipping around the central drums of the mix.
When the bass kicks in it, the connection between Hardfloor [+]'s past and potential future becomes enjoyably clear.
Other varied mixes include the amusingly titled "Beavis at Bat," with an abbreviated buildup sequence familiar from their earlier work with that time-honored standby, and the immediately following slow and loping funk of "Knuckle Skills," which sounds like a flat-out tribute to the work of the Ninja Tune label.

The Hardfloor remix is pretty typical Hardfloor, with a strong bass beat coming in under the song and then mostly following the normal song with various tracks removed or highlighted, and a couple of nice breaks.
Groups like this use other people's stuff as the basis for their work, but they do more than just re-sample tracks, they add some of their own music, beats, etc. so they're kind of in between just sampling work and just remixing work.
