Harford County was formed in 1773 by the splitting of Baltimore County.
In the county the population was spread out with 27.90% under the age of 18, 6.80% from 18 to 24, 31.60% from 25 to 44, 23.70% from 45 to 64, and 10.10% who were 65 years of age or older.

The county seat from 1774 until 1783 was known as "Harford town", also known as "Bush".
Harford town became a stopping place for stagecoach travelers and a meeting place for politicians and statesmen, not only of Harford county but of national fame, as they travelled between the cities of the East.
Note that William Paca, of Abingdon in Harford county, was one of four men from Maryland who were signers of the Declaration of Independence.

The team ran the 4th highest score of the day in taking the "Top Finalist" award at the Lansdale warm-up event in Lansdale, Pa. The award marks the first time the team was among the award winners at this early season event.
Team members and coaches received commendations from the Town of Aberdeen, Harford County, the State Congress, and Governor Robert Ehrlich.
The team gained home field advantage for the Maryland State tournament when the event was held at our club in Bel Air.

Former Havre de Grace Mayor David R. Craig was sworn in July 7th as the sixth Harford County Executive succeeding James M. Harkins, who resigned to become director of Maryland Environmental Services.
Chosen by the Harford County Council, as directed by the County Charter, Craig has spent nearly 30 years in public service having worked as a public school teacher and administrator, a State Delegate and State Senator and was elected mayor of Havre de Grace in 1985, 1987, 2001 and 2005.
Since the County Charter bars the executive from holding a second job, Craig has resigned his position as an assistant principal at Southampton Middle School and as mayor of Havre de Grace.
