The way Hari Kostov has been misused by the current government is symptomatic of the greater tragedy affecting the state: managerial misplacements and incompetents elevated well beyond their rightful ranks.
Instead, Kostov was given one of the most difficult and sensitive posts on offer — that of interior minister — and was thus in effect forced to deal with the constant headaches posed by the various Albanian “liberation” factions that have come and gone over the past two years.
Of course, Macedonia being a protectorate, Kostov was put on notice by the West to not deal with them too strongly; however, all in all, he did do a good job of keeping an often volatile situation under control.
