Harlan Carey Brewster (November 10, 1870 – March 1, 1918) was a politician in British Columbia, Canada.
Brewster became leader of the opposition, and was elected party leader in March 1912.
Brewster promised to end patronage in the civil service, end political machines, improve workmen's compensation and labour laws, bring in votes for women, and other progressive reforms.

Harlan was born into a prominent Kentucky slaveholding family, his father a well-known Kentucky politician and former Congressman.
Harlan was elected county judge of Franklin County, Kentucky in 1858.
Harlan joined the Republican party in 1868 and remained a Republican for the rest of his life, and, befitting his new party, he turned strongly against slavery, calling it "the most perfect despotism that ever existed on this earth." He ran for governor in 1871 and 1875, losing both times.
