BY F. Harmony Township is situated in the center of the eastern tier of townships, and is bounded north by Moorefield and Pleasant, east by the county of Madison, south by Madison Township, and west by Springfield Township.
The center of the township, as shown by diagonal lines drawn from northwest to southeast, and from southwest to northeast, is on the north half of the northwest quarter of Section 9, about ten rods south of the railroad.
Harmony Village is situated on the National road, near the west line of Harmony Township, and six miles east of Springfield.

The history of the early settlement of Harmony Township is robbed of much of that romantic interest which attaches to those years of peril, when the homes of the pioneers were turned into log fortresses, and life on the frontier was full of " moving accidents by flood and field.
Cardington was scarcely known, and a blazed road from the northeast corner of Harmony Township, out to the treaty line, and thence along that line, was the only road to the two or three cabins that have since grown to the thriving village of that name.

Yesterday's ruling came after Jackson officials questioned the validity of the petitions circulated in their township and asked a judge to rule that the documents were invalid.
Harmony officials earlier this year decided to look into annexing a portion of Jackson Township after, they said, a number of Jackson residents approached them about joining the borough.
Harmony is seeking to annex Gregg Drive, south of Little Creek Road; Maple Glen Drive; Willowood Lane; portions of Wise and Mercer roads; West Circle Drive; and South Circle Drive.

I have been asked why Harmony Township should take the initiative toward the clean up of property that is located in Ambridge Borough.
The Township needs to take the initiative because no one else ever will.

The Delaware River is expected to crest tonight at Tocks Island in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, Hardwick Township, at 11 p.m., Belvidere at 12 a.m., Phillipsburg at 1 a.m.
Delaware River levels are expected to be approximately 3 feet higher than those of last September’s Hurricane Ivan flood, but 2.5 to 4.5 feet lower, depending on the location, than those of the Flood of 1955, the highest flood on record for the Delaware.

The Harmony Society was founded in 1805 by Johann Georg Rapp (1757-1847), a farmer and vinedresser born in Iptigen, Germany.
They established their first community called Harmony in the Connoquenessing Valley of Butler County in 1805 where all property was held in common and, in 1807, the group also adopted the practice of celibacy.
Following litigation by heirs, the Harmony Society was dissolved in 1905 and seventeen structures comprising Old Economy Village were acquired by the Pennsylvania Historical Commission in 1919 for use as a historic site.
