One explanation of the origin of the name Harold's Cross is that it is derived from the name given to a gallows, which had been placed where the current Harold's Cross park is situated.
Harold's Cross was the execution ground for the city of Dublin during the 18th century and earlier.

The Canal should be on your right and follow the canal to Harolds Cross Bridge.
Take a left at Harolds Cross Bridge and travel straight ahead until you meet a Y junction with a set of traffic lights.
Go straight through the traffic lights at the Kimmage Cross roads (KCR) and take the first left at the next set of traffic lights (immediately after the Park) - Ravensdale Park continuing with the turn in the road veering right and DNM Technology is on the right hand side on Cashel Road.

About 400 meters from the canal, there is a Y junction, with a park between the arms of the Y. Take the left fork, and about 100 meters later there is a housing estate called Leinster Park.
If you are looking for Merchants quay, and have overshot, the best thing to do it drive to the end of the quays, and cross the river and come back again.

It would make life so much easier if you put a delay on the lights at Harolds Cross bridge coming from inchicore as cars turning right have to brake the lights every morning so if there was a small delay on the lights it would be safer for all cheers
