Harris Manchester College is a constituent college of the University of Oxford, England.
Located in the heart of the University and city of Oxford, Harris Manchester is the only Higher Education college in the UK whose undergraduate places are exclusively for mature students (aged 21 or over).
It is the smallest of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford, and is one of the least wealthy colleges with an estimated financial endowment of five million pounds (2003).

Harris Manchester College is a community of about 200 people, of whom around 150 are mature students (that is, over twenty-one years of age), mostly reading for first undergraduate degrees.
The college's intention is that the person appointed be part of both junior and senior common rooms, and that he or she will, through his or her work, contribute to and comment on the life of the community.
Although Harris Manchester became a full college of Oxford University only in 1996, as Manchester College it has a history of providing higher education to those traditionally excluded from it, dating back to the eighteenth century.

Oxford University alumni are demanding assurances over the financial viability and governance of Harris Manchester College after a special investigation by The THES.
It emerged that HMC appears to be in breach of the conditions under which it became an Oxford college in 1996.
Lord Harris of Peckham pledged £3 million to add to its existing pot of £900,000, to be paid at £500,000 a year for six years.

The CCCU is a council of approximately 130 Christian colleges and universities.
A series of public lectures held at Harris Manchester College, Oxford, gave an opportunity for a larger public to enjoy the lecturers and for participants to meet members of the large constituency in Oxford that is interested in science and religion.
The 2000 seminars concentrated on the relations between science and theology, philosophy and ethics, and the final seminars, in 2001, are slated to focus on the life sciences.

Harris Manchester College, Oxford University's mature student college, is launching a nationwide essay competition aimed at anyone aged 20 or over who is considering going to university.
Dr Mark Rogers, Economics Fellow at Harris Manchester College, said: 'We find that many bright students who have, for a variety of reasons, missed out on a good education at school, lack confidence in writing.
Applicants often have to submit essays when applying for a course – two essays in the case of Oxford – and we realise this can sometimes be a challenge for people returning to study.

The students at Harris Manchester College had finished exams and had moved out of the dormitories (actually beautiful buildings with small individual rooms and a little kitchenette and bathroom for each two) and we moved in.
David Woodfine was a marvel, in fact, prior to coming to Oxford, he was the Head Chef for Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Winston Churchill, for the Duke of Marlborough as well as Head Chef to the Marquis of Tavistock and The Duke and Duchess of Westminster.
Oxford University with its 39 colleges presented a treasure box full of history, sights, tales and traditions that I will continue to absorb throughout the year.
