 Harrison House
The house was built in 1807 by Jacob Oberdier, one of only twelve brick houses in Franklinton and is one of the only remaining original structures of Franklinton today.
The Harrison House was registered as a National Historic Place in 1972, but was almost turned into a parking lot in 1975.
The house is currently being leased through the city to the Franklin County Genealogical Society.

 Harrison Heritage House & Kottages - history
Harrison was particularly concerned for the welfare of the Indian peoples of the area and did not want to see them exploited although he did want them converted to Christianity.
However, it was not until 1846 that the full Harrison River and Harrison Lake were explored by Alexander Anderson who at the request of Governor Simpson investigated this possible route to the interior.
The location of Harrison Hot Springs appears on a map as early as 1846, although the springs themselves were not discovered till late in the 1850's during the Caribou gold rush.

 Holt-Harrison House
The Holt-Harrison House c.1897, situated at the northwest corner of Hay Street and Woodside Avenue in Haymount, is an example of the Colonial Revival architecture which was much favored for residential construction in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
The Holt-Harrison House was built by textile industrialist Walter L. Holt (of the well-known Alamance County Holt family which during the nineteenth century stimulated the cotton mill industry of Piedmont North Carolina) who worked to establish four of Fayetteville’s important turn-of-the-century textile mills.
Harrison was living on Gillespie Street at the time of the adaptations, but by 1943 was living in Apartment Number 1 at 806 Hay Street.

The furnishings of four-poster and rope beds, the bedspread, made by a Linsley ancestor for her dowry, the seventeenth century chests of Branford origin, the beehive bake oven, warming pans, foot stoves and old china all lend the charm of the olden days.
Built by Nathaniel Harrison in 1724 as a "two over two" house and occupied by his family and descendants until 1800, the house was then taken over by Linsleys who with their descendants lived here until 1938.
One of the rooms in the Harrison House is set aside as a museum for Branford artifacts, memorabilia and archives.
