Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, released on July 16, 2005, is the sixth novel in J.
The identity of the half-blood prince character has no apparent bearing on the main plot of the series, and since Harry, Ron and Hermione's main concern throughout this book is to solve the mystery of this character's true identity, the driving plot of the book is not truly resolved.
He and Harry set off to retrieve one (Salazar Slytherin's locket), and are successful in retrieving a locket from the expected location, though Dumbledore is heavily weakened in the process.

UGO.com FILM & TV - Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Review
The Half-Blood Prince feels like a bit of a transitional entry, bridging the gap between the heavy revelations in book #5 and the events that are to resolve the series in book #7, rather than a stand-alone story.
Characters don't sit still in the world of Harry Potter for long, and lessons are often learned on the run.
By contrasting Voldemort's past with Harry's present, Dumbledore illustrates how, even when destinies and prophecy are involved, mankind still has free will, and who a person becomes has as much to do with the choices they make as the potential they have.

Harry Potter - Review of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Film 4
The films are defining and deepening the portrayal of her creations and she finally has an "independent voice" and a way of speaking directly to *all* of us, quite separately from any limitations imposed by publishers or filmmakers on her "finished works".
The whole film is very fast-moving and the humour inherent throughout the books is mirrored in what happens on the screen; dually though there is a much greater degree of artistic beauty in the scenes of the film and greater depth to the "magical world" we are coming to know so well.
Of all the films, this one was probably the "hardest to get right" and dually is one of the most significant in terms of the events that have to be portrayed and the rising of the dark forces.

Polytropos: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Harry Potter fans will all remember the moment in Book Four when Harry touches the Goblet of Fire and is teleported into the graveyard where Voldemort, finally ready to take physical form again, has laid a trap for him.
Harry’s mother’s death has significance because she chose it, Voldermort chose to lose his humanity for the sake of power, and Harry will be the hero only if he chooses to be not because of some prophecy.
But because they haven’t been seen before in Harry’s world, and because of the fear and awe the kids express when contemplating them, and of course because of the way they’re perfectly described in the scene itself, they become terrifying and new, as if Rowling was the first one to invent the concept.

She virtually disappeared for two and a half novels, but returned in the last section of "Phoenix" as a very intriguing character — smart, direct, uniquely able to understand Harry’s relationship with Voldemort, and to snap Harry out of the self-pity that dogged him throughout the book.
Harry’s longstanding attraction to fellow Hogwarts student Cho Chang blossomed into romance in "Phoenix," but it didn’t last — Cho was jealous of Harry’s friendship with Hermione, and Harry wasn’t as sympathetic as he probably should have been to her continuing grief over her previous boyfriend, Cedric Diggory, killed by Voldemort in the previous book.
She was the nexus of a major plotline in book two "Chamber of Secrets," both embarrassing Harry with her schoolgirl crush on him and becoming the target of one of Voldemort’s plots by becoming possessed by his enchanted diary.
