Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004): Reviews
The Prisoner of Azkaban is to Harry Potter what that other No. 3, "Goldfinger," was to James Bond: the movie that takes the invention and gamesmanship of the series to a whole new giddy peak.
Potter 3 is, in its heart of hearts, a teenage angst movie...Cuaron has done a masterful job of bringing off this shift in the Potter paradigm without disrupting any disruption in the established style of the series and without any pandering concessions to the teen-movie genre.
In the Harry Potter film series thus far, The Sorcerer's Stone remains the strongest, perhaps because the first look at any rich new world is almost always going to be more groundbreaking than its sequels.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - Ferrago
Being stuck on an early level in any game is obviously frustrating, but add to that the ever-present humiliating factor that the game in question is aimed in the majority at the under 15s market, and you may find yourself in a rather bad mood.
Atmosphere is generally something EA recreate well in their cinematically-inspired offerings, and The Prisoner of Azkaban certainly carries some of the more ominous and frightening undertones with which the book marked a maturation from the original two novels.
In the game proper, individual characters also have specific spells - a nice touch - and as usual these can be mapped to action keys as required, reflecting the largely intuitive standard of the controls.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban: (John Williams) After a year devoid of J. Rowling's beloved witches and wizards on the big screen, Warner Brothers provides the third installment of the Harry Potter at a new, summertime release date.
As a package, Prisoner of Azkaban showcases the brilliance of Williams' talents, with great ideas rolling out one after another, and yet it would seem as though the maestro has lost a little of his touch in the area of wrapping all of these ideas into a coherent whole.
Prisoner of Azkaban, on the other hand, loses touch with the previous scores in the franchise, failing to further develop them as the students age and war approaches.

The focus in Azkaban is firmly on the game rather than "reliving the movie," which not only eliminates the burden of lengthy cut-scenes but lets the developers stray further from the movie's plotline than a strict reenactment would have allowed.

Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban is a great game, but I think it falls far short of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in terms of gameplay, atmosphere, and most certainly duration.
Giving the game designers such a free hand in terms of content seems to have led to a concentration on the gaming aspects rather than the storyline, and that weakens the whole experience.
