Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) is the third in the Harry Potter film series and was directed by Alfonso Cuarón.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione are later climbing the upstairs towards the Griffindor Common Room in the Marble Staircase as Ron and Hermione tell Harry of Hogsmead when they notice the stairs blocked by Griffindors ("Neville's forgotten the password again," guesses Ron).
Harry's now 14 inch wand is the most changed, the handle appears to be made from a tree branch with bark while the shaft appears to be either redwood or rosewood and is not polished but rather rough.

Chris Columbus, who directed the first two Potter movies (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets), is a more family-friendly, happy-making guy than is Alfonso Cuaron.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is beautifully rendered.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is rated PG for "scary moments, some creature violence, and mild language." I attended the movie with the 14 year-old son of a friend of mine, and we both enjoyed ourselves immensely.

In other words, Prisoner of Azkaban needs to be darker and more mature, but it still has to feel like a Harry Potter movie.
Other reviewers have noted that Harry seems to faint far too often, leading to an obligatory scene where he wakes up and has the events that he (and, consequently, we) missed described or explained to him.
