Harry Ramsdens is given a makeover
Harry Ramsden's, the UK's best known fish and chip restaurant chain, has given Clear a brief to help the Yorkshire-founded eaterie's management relaunch the brand across the UK.
The task was to develop a new brand positioning that "reflected Harry's unique heritage as the leading provider of authentic, high quality fish and chips", while "communicating that it now also serves a whole new range of dishes, from the traditional to the exotic".
Harry Ramsden's is the UK brand leader in fish and chips, operating full-service restaurants, including one in Salford, express formats in shopping malls and smaller units in transit locations on the motorways and in airports.

Eating out: Harry Ramsden's Express, Glasgow | Weekend | Guardian Unlimited
Similar ontologically paradoxical signals were emanating from the staff of the Harry Ramsden's franchise at Glasgow airport.
The mushy peas were at least edible, but the chips were limp and pallid, and (something Harry would never have allowed) there wasn't even the chance to wash it down with a refreshing glass of Vimto - a drink that would have been appropriate here, because it anagrams into "vomit".
Soon afterwards, out of a sense of fairness, I visited another Harry Ramsden's "Express" at a Moto service station on the M6, in case the Glasgow fiasco had been a one-off aberration.
