	Sewage shock for Hartbeespoort
		Dirk Bouwer of the Hartbeespoort Water Action group said he and other residents were "disgusted" to see thousands of litres of raw sewage being dumped into the dam.
		What upset him and other residents most that the sewage was dumped into the dam several hundred metres from where the Madibeng local authority took water from the dam to purify it as drinking water for at least 15 000 residents in the area.
		The Hartbeespoort action group has demanded that the whole area where the sewage "had probably been dumped for several months" be cordoned off and rehabilitated.

		Judgment was reserved on Wednesday the Hartbeespoort local council's Pretoria High Court application against the Demarcation Board to set aside the town's incorporation into the larger Brits area.
		Hartbeespoort's residents have vigorously opposed the incorporation, claiming that one could not simply throw together an area known to attract tourists with Brits, which is known as an industrial town.
		The former Hartbeespoort council's advocate, Mike Maritz, SC, argued on Wednesday that a decision by the board to enlarge the Hartbeespoort municipal area by some 150 percent should be set aside, because the board had not adhered to the procedural requirements prescribed by law.

		A sewage leak into the Hartbeespoort Dam in the North West was being fixed and posed no danger, the Madibeng municipality said on Friday.

		The Department of Labour Minister Membathisi Mdladlana has condemned yesterday's accident near Hartbeespoort Dam in the North West in which two people were seriously injured when a cableway carrying at least 40 people snapped in midair and plunged to the ground.
		The cableway is operated by Hartbeespoort Kabospoor Company to transport members of the public to picnic sports across the Hartebeespoort Dam up to the nearby mountains.
		Health and Safety Inspectors arrived at the scene soon after the incident yesterday afternoon and immediately issued a prohibition notice halting all operations while investigations are been conducted.
