		Harvard Law School (HLS) is one of the professional graduate schools of Harvard University.
		Harvard Law School is also noted for its size -- in its JD program, each class has approximately 550 students, compared to about 180 in each of Stanford, Yale and Chicago's, and 350 in each of Columbia and NYU's.
		The Harvard Law School is home to the Berkman Center for Internet and Society, which focuses on the legal study of cyberspace.

	Harvard Gazette: Elena Kagan named next dean of Harvard Law School
		Harvard University Law Professor Elena Kagan was named the next dean of the Law School by President Lawrence H. Summers on April 3.
		Kagan is a professor of law at Harvard Law School, where she teaches administrative law, constitutional law, and civil procedure.
		She was a law clerk for Judge Abner Mikva of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, then for Justice Thurgood Marshall of the U.S. Supreme Court.

		Before it was enforced, numerous law schools denied the military formal recruiting access because they said the government’s “don’t ask don’t tell” policy on gays in the military violates the schools’ nondiscrimination guidelines for recruiters.
		A group of Harvard faculty planned to file a brief Wednesday to the Supreme Court urging that the law be overturned, as did a separate consortium of law schools.
		But all three were “stand-alone” law schools that were not putting other parts of their universities at risk of losing federal money.

	Discourse.net: Where is Harvard Law School?
		It strikes me that no one from Harvard Law School is quoted, reminding me that I recently compiled data for a list of the most-cited law review articles of the last 10 years and found that Harvard Law School faculty figured on the list only minimally.
		I also found that none of the seven most-cited articles from that period were published in the Harvard Law Review, which has dominated all previous most-cited lists.
		On a student level, the school exists to staff the Amlaw 100, with only a handful entering jobs with any connection to the public interest (including government jobs, which students are told to enter not for service, but as political ladders or experience before movement to private regulatory practice).
