		This Album was released by The Band on 29/08/2000
		The Band, the group's second album, was a more deliberate and even more accomplished effort, partially because the players had become a more cohesive unit and partially because guitarist Robbie Robertson had taken over the songwriting, writing or co-writing all 12 songs.
		The arrangements were simultaneously loose and assured, giving the songs a timeless appeal, while the lyrics continued to paint portraits of 19th century rural life (especially Southern life, as references to Tennessee and Virginia made clear), its sometimes less savory aspects treated with warmth and humor.

	Neil Young Harvest Moon Album Review -
		There is nothing on "Harvest Moon" that approaches the intensity or EMOTION that comes across on the tapes taken from the solo acoustic shows.
		While I feel the album is "good"...it just does not move me. In my opinion, there is not a single cut on "Harvest Moon" that does not sound better in its "original state: solo acoustic.
		With its heavy country sound, "Harvest Moon" arrives just in time to (hopefully) capture a share of the market in the current country/western music fad/phase we seem to be in the midst of.

		Review: When John Mellencamp left Mercury Records for Columbia in 1997, he owed his longtime label two more albums -- one was a hits collection (The Best That I Could Do), the other was Rough Harvest.
		Not quite a rarities collection, not quite a live album, Rough Harvest offers a selection of acoustic arrangements of Mellencamp's personal favorites (which happen to lean toward album tracks from the '90s), plus several covers recorded live at his studio, Belmont Mall, in 1997.

		J Of the eleven songs on this album, four were written by members of the group: two by Caleb and two by Marty.
		Harvest did not include the song lyrics inside the cover, but there is a note saying that the lyrics for all the songs are available on their website.
		The 9th song is the last one on the album penned by one of the group members.

	Neil Young: Fyfeopedia Music Reviews
		There’s a clear sense throughout the album of Young declaring his intention to stay relevant, whether he’s criticising the complacency of his former band mates Stills, Crosby and Nash in ‘Thrasher’ (“I got bored and left them there/They were just deadweight to me”) or adopting a punk-derived thrash in ‘Welfare Mothers’ and ‘Sedan Delivery’.
		The album’s centre piece is the epic ‘Powderfinger’, not only providing the name for an Australian punk band, but another portrait of a loner character, this time a young man left to defend his family farm from raiders.
		The album’s biggest problem is that it comes across as a novelty record; some of the electronic effects haven’t aged gracefully, and it’s hard to take the technological themes seriously for the same reason.

		Carol of Harvest's only album used to be one of those rare psych/folk LPs which commanded such stratospheric prices as to put it completely out of reach of the average collector.
		Nevertheless, the album remains one of the most well-crafted, deftly composed masterpieces of the Italian prog school, and is heartily recommended for those looking for beautiful, soft symphonic rock with rich, romantic atmospheres.
		Long, scorching lead breaks are not in abundance on the album but somehow they are not missed too much so it's definitely a case of enjoying Bill's wonderful voice and the lyrics for their message and story line.

		Released to coincide with the 20th anniversary of Young's most popular album, "Harvest", "Harvest Moon" is not a sequel per se, but it has the same feel, and some of the musicians are even the same as in 1972.
		There are probably albums that I would reach for before this one, however, one dark night I decided to give it a spin.
		I would recommend this album to anyone, most of the people I know who are not into all of Neil Young's stuff love this album, and when they have bought maybe a few of his albums this seems to always be there.

	Crazy Horse Band Reviews
		The album was recorded in late 1970 and released in early 1971.
		Harvest was dark and self wollowing in some places, while this whole album is bright and a whole hell of a lot happier...
		Everything is Crytal clear and loud in your speakers which makes for a nice listening experince.There are not that many song on the album that went on to become classics or get regular play on te radio but for Neil fans almost every song on the album is a classic.

		'Harvest', an album with the very radio friendly and huge hit 'Heart Of Gold', an album with a first two thirds that were pretty mellow and nice and an album that sold by the truckload, ending with these two blasts of darkness.
		An album that was a record company executive's dream, an album easily pitched as a natural successor to Neil's famous and best-selling 'Harvest' some twenty years earlier.
		Harvest Moon is a beautiful sounding album in my opinion the acoustics sound so warm and spacey, the harmonies drift and float across the sound.

	Harvest
		Prior to Harvest, Neil Young had two solo albums that he recorded with Crazy Horse (both incredible) and one without them.
		While on his album Everybody Knows This is Nowhere it is the electric songs that are well-known, with Harvest it is the softer tracks that had commercial success and ever lasting appeal.
		The album starts by defining the overall Nashville theme with the opening track "Out On the Weekend." The most commercial song, "Heart of Gold" is a classic and features Linda Ronstadt on background vocals.

		Harvest time is such a wonderful time of year; it makes us appreciate all the hard work the farmers do, so we can have food to eat.
		This is a terrific album, a fine tribute to the farmers who work so hard to keep us (and a good part of the world) fed. Driving through Minnesota in late September, I was frankly startled to see how late into the night these guys work to bring in a crop.

		Neil Young's most popular album, Harvest employs a number of jarringly different styles.

		However, if you really want to get the album with more recognizable and better songs individually, then such an album is impossible to find.
