Harvey Birdman was one of the four first shows that Adult Swim debuted in 2001.
Birdman's antics during the show are the farthest thing from an actual lawyer but you would expect that from Adult Swim.

Birdman himself is a revision of a "third-rate superhero" from the obscure 1967 Hanna-Barbera cartoon, "Birdman and the Galaxy Trio." Everything old is indeed new again.
Birdman himself, pressured by organized crime to defend Flintstone, ends up with more than one severed head at the foot of his bed; only one of them (Hanna-Barbera's Quick Draw McGraw), however, is a horse.

Harvey was a super hero from his own series that apparently became a lawyer along the way.
Harvey himself is portrayed as goofy and a little out of it, but lovable.
The more involved Birdman's boss Phil Ken Sebben and Harvey’s assistant Peanut are involved in the plot the more the show gets away from its original intention, though there are some great situations that do eventually come about with the introduction of these characters.

I couldn’t imagine “Birdman” as a buffoon attorney let alone imagine an animated comedy series where he represents other Hannah Barbera characters in various humorous cases, but boy was I wrong.
There are lots of innuendo jokes and cameo appearances by so many former Saturday morning cartoon characters, especially some real obscure ones, that the show should match well with those who grew up on the characters in the 60s and 70s as well as the college crowd looking for something different.
Don’t miss “Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law” when the new season premieres on the Cartoon Network on Sunday, April 18, 2004 at 11pm (ET/PT) as a part of Adult Swim.

Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law, however, is awesome, because it's taking familiar and often boring characterization and putting a very intelligently-conceived spin on that characterization.
The best show...if I absolutely had to choose one, I'd say Birdman, because it consistently entertains and is probably the most biting out of the four, even though Family Guy and Futurama are both fairly sarcastic, I've found that much of the humor in Family Guy is "vulgar," and Futurama's, as well.
