Harvey Township is a township in Meeker County, Minnesota, United States.
In the township the population was spread out with 32.6% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 27.0% from 25 to 44, 23.4% from 45 to 64, and 8.8% who were 65 years of age or older.
The median income for a household in the township was $46,750, and the median income for a family was $46,750.

 Union Township History
The first census taker for Union Township finished his recordings on July 18, 1840 and said that he had “made actual inquiry at every dwelling house or a personal inquire of the head of every family.” When the first census was taken in the summer of 1840 there were 16 families living in the Township.
Union township women once again tried to vote in the general election in 1887, but were turned away after a decision of Wisconsin’s Attorney General Estabrook was read at the opening of the polls.
The population of Evansville was 1,523 and the population of Union township 950.

This township was among the original townships organized by the county authorities in 1858.
Among other early settlers in the township was Orange K. Ogle, born in Ohio, who removed to Illinois and later to Indiana and from that state in 1856 moved to Rice County, Minnesota, where he resided 8 years and then moved to Cordova, this county.

Harvey Dunn isn’t usually on the list of famed pulp-cover artists - his work more often appeared in the slicks.
A brief look at Dunn’s life: He was born Harvey Thomas Dunn on a South Dakota homestead near a buffalo trace not far from De Smet, March 8, 1884.
Despite his father’s reluctance, Harvey enrolled at the South Dakota Agricultural College (as South Dakota State University was then named) in Brookings in 1901.

He was born on Staten Island, N. December 11, 1843, and in 1857, located in Iowa; enlisted in 1861, in Company D., Tenth Regiment Iowa Volunteer Infantry, and was the first one with Gen. Pope in Missouri, and at Island No. 10 and afterwards was with Gen. Grant in all his campaigns.
He has the hedges so planted that from all the fields on his place (nine in number), the entrance is at the barn and windmill, where his stock can come for water, his well with windmill pump, being situated on the highest part of the farm.
Was Enumerator of Census in 1880, for Darlington and Richland Townships and is also Township Clerk and a member of the School Board, which position he has held since the organization of the school.

 FSTS 21WA0022 Harvey Rock Shelter
These artifacts were found in 1933 by University of Minnesota archaeologists when they investigated the Harvey Rock Shelter, a broad, shallow cave in the west bank of the St. Croix River, about three miles north of Stillwater.
Many rock art sites and burial mounds also were reported along the St. Croix at that time, but most are gone now.
The drawings shown here are from The Minnesota Archaeologist, October, 1944.
