The Harz National Park is a nature reserve in Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, Germany.
Rare animals of the Harz National Park include the dipper, the black stork, peregrine falcon and especially the lynx.
In its current form, the park was created in 2006 by joining the Harz National Park in Lower Saxony (created in 1994) with the Upper Harz National Park in Saxony-Anhalt (created in 1990).

The Upper Harz National Park, with a surface area of about 59 km², is dominated by expansive forests of mountain spruce, interspersed with open formations of moor, low scrub and rock.
Spruce, beech, deer and air specimens have been drawn from the Upper Harz National Park since 1991, both to begin as early as possible with collecting evidence of pollution levels on the former territory of the GDR and also as preparation for routine sampling procedures.
