Hasan Abshir Farah and Abdullah Deerow Isaaq were dismissed as prime minister and speaker respectively in August.
In a joint press release, Abshir and Deerow said the appointments were contrary to the transitional charter or interim constitution and therefore "null and void".
Like Abshir, he is from the Darood clan from the Mudug region of central Somalia.

NAIROBI, 26 May 2003 (IRIN) - The prime minister of the Transitional National Government (TNG) of Somalia, Hasan Abshir Farah, is expected to leave for the capital, Mogadishu, on Monday, from Nairobi, where he is attending the Somali peace talks.
Abshir's decision to go home follows "intensive discussions and consultations between him and the president to end their differences", a TNG source told IRIN.
Meanwhile, Abshir told IRIN that the Somali peace talks were at a crucial stage "and are now running smoothly".
