Biography: Hasely Joachim Crawford was born August 16, 1950 in San Fernadno, Trinidad and Tobago.
Hasely is the only Trinidadian to compete in four Olympic Games as he also represented T&T at both the Moscow and Los Angeles editions in 1980 and 1984.
Hasely "Raj Paul" Crawford has a jet and a stadium named after him and was bestowed the Trinity Cross in 1978.

Crawford scampering to victory in 10.06 seconds, shown on a huge TV screen, was given top spot in the “Ten Great TandT Sporting Moments”, one of the highlights of Friday night’s WITCO Sports Foundation Awards at the Hilton Trinidad ballroom.
Crawford, who clocked 10.06 seconds to win the Montreal Games 100 metres gold medal in 1976, was inducted into the American Athletic Conference Hall of Fame on may 20, 1991 for his outstanding contributions to the sport of track and field.
Crawford became the third Trinidadian to compete in three Olympic games and the only one to attend four, as he went on to Moscow and Los Angeles in 1980 and 1984.

Nigeria's coach, Abdullahi Musa, said it will be a disadvantage to his team playing on the maximum-size field in Port-of-Spain after having played all of their matches on the smaller fields in Tobago at the Dwight Yorke stadium, where they excelled.
He added that he tried to practice on the Hasely Crawford stadium field before, but couldn't as they were making repairs in preparation for Sunday's final.
