		The Haskell Opera House, a lovely horse-and-buggy-days performing arts center, was closed to the public by the trustees until it could be retrofitted to meet 21st Century fire, safety, and handicapped accessible requirements of two countries, a province, and a state.
		The building, a scaled-down version of the old Boston Opera House (long since disappeared) was donated to the residents of Derby Line and Rock Island and Stanstead, Quebec, by Martha Stewart Haskell and her son, Horace, in memory of Carlos Haskell, husband and father.
