  Hassan Habibi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hassan Ebrahim Habibi (in Persian: حسن ابراهیم حبیبی) (born 1937?) is an Iranian politician and scholar, presently the Head of Academy of Persian Language and Literature (from October 11, 2004, for four years), and a member of the High Council of Cultural Revolution.
Habibi was the first First Vice President of Iran from 1989 to 2001, eight years under President Rafsanjani and then four years under President Khatami.
Habibi was among the main architects of the new Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran after the Iranian Revolution, which was later passed for more discussion to an elected Assembly of Experts for Constitution.

Massoud Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance, said: Habibi's resignation, only six months after Khatami took office, bespeaks of the fear, despair and demoralization of the highest officials of the clerical regime and is reminiscent of the resignation and flight of the shah's generals in the final stages of the monarchic dictatorship.
Before Rafsanjani's presidency, Habibi was the Minister of Justice and one of the officials responsible for the massacre of 15,000 prisoners in summer 1988.
