Salmon Hater, Australia's premiere Fish-Core outfit, was formed by lead singer Torv after the break up of his previous band Angry Fish over dietary disputes.
The demise of his former band inspired Torv to create Salmon Hater and to this day Torv will still erupt in unpredictable acts of violence upon mention of Angry Fish and his former band mates.
Hailing from caves in the underground hills of South Australia's Glenelg, Salmon Hater perform a brutal fusion of grind and death metal with a subtle Devo influence.

Hater was originally intended to be a regrouping of Episode, the last band/project Ben Shepherd was involved in before he was recruited into Soundgarden in 1990.
Hater provides a chance for Cameron to sing (which he does on "Sad McBain") and Shepherd to play guitar, a departure from their regular duties in Soundgarden.
Hater is where Shepherd returns to his first instrument.

Anderson asked Spencer what his favourite metal band was, and Spencer, put on the spot, gave the fake name "Salmon Hater".

 CD Baby: PENELOPE HOUSTON: Snapshot
The Band's 'It Makes No Difference' is finally made listenable (but as a Band hater I'm biased), and justice is done to 'Though You Are Far Away' (improving on anything Colin Blunstone has done is flatly impossible, so they're wise to stick very close to the original arrangement).
The Band's "It Makes No Difference" is a bittersweet masterpiece with the incredible backing harmonies of Willow Willow (whose debut album will be released soon on Mod Lang Records) and some lovely understated piano work by Pat Johnson.
But it's a pair of dreamy ballads penned by the Band's Robbie Robertson ("It Makes No Difference") and Zombies vocalist Colin Blunstone ("Though You Are Far Away") that allows Houston's voice, accompanied tastefully by piano and acoustic guitar, enough time to smolder like damp leaves burning on an autumn day.

He began looking for the right people to join his band that would represent the Hard-Driving Texas Country sound that he was fond of.
Bio/Info: In the fall of 2004, Grant Wiscour started his band, the Infidels, while working as a bouncer at Adair's Saloon in Dallas.

In their short time together they have evolved into an energetic live band playing to substantial crowds at Melbourne's premier venues, supporting popular bands including Dreadnaught, Frankenbok, Psi-Kore and Salmon Hater, as well as toured up and down the east coast.
Formed in June 2002 from the ashes of several local bands, including Holster, Toepeg, Pillow and Wrothed, Jay vocals, Floyd guitar, Ben drums and Staf bass, have all had their fair share of experience in the frenetic Melbourne live scene over the years.
Although the distinctive Tailbone is not easily categorised, falling somewhere in between bone crunching beats and heavy riffs, Staf describes the bands sound as "Brutalheavybroodingtastefulmellowemotiveandharmonic".

“Making the Band” is complete with endless opportunities to constantly rag on eight pretty boys who have their songs written for them and their lives taped, with a stream of hilarious melodrama that can turn any boy band-hater into a reality TV junkie.
As “O-Town: Making the Band” explains, boy band boot camp began with placing ads on MTV and the Internet and recruiting thousands of hopefuls to audition in eight major cities.
The chosen eight would be the “cast” of “Making the Band” and would eventually be whittled down to the final five O-Town members.

Spaceland may not be Glastonbury, where their shows are legendary, but the Levellers have that magical knack, not to mention the superb musicianship, to win over even the most crust-free hippie-hater.
His voice is at once careworn, lordly and distinctly British against the band’s layers of mountainous drumming, sprightly fiddle and the occasional didgeridoo.
The songs tend to be protest calls for action and peace, like the lovely “Wake the World” and the rousing “Come On” from the latest album, Green Blade Rising, or odes to victims and the disenfranchised, such as “15 Years,” their danceable hit about an alcoholic wife-beater.

Nicholas Boos' review: For the several hundred people that were not seeing Blues Travler on the closing night of the 4 day Bumbershoot festival, they got to see a really good preformance from a Soundgarden side project band called Hater.
Ben came back and sang two songs, then introduced my favorite Hater song, "Sad McBain." Matt sang while beating on his kit, knocking over a cymbol at the end.
We talked for a brief five minutes or so before the show, he said to me, "I heard this band is suppost to be really good." After the doors were opened I went straight to the front of the tiny venue, it was the best attendance the "Bumberclub" had all day.

Brand Nubian recently joined indie hip-hop label Babygrande Records--home to a family of great talents such as furious femcee Jean Grae, Cool J hater Canibus, and Philly underground duo Jedi Mind Tricks--with the promise to use its wisdom to spread positivity and awareness to the unknowing and the unconscious.
Brand Nubian never gained the admiration deserved for being pillars of storytelling, politically motivated rap, but many hip-hop aficionados, especially those with a passion for the instinctive street-oriented hip-hop of the '90s, would unquestionably label the band legendary.
The album is a first step in rekindling the Brand Nubian magic, giving both a boost to and a break from the members' successful individual careers.
