  Case Study by Hawbush Tenants Association
Hawbush Tenants Association (TA) has been active on a large housing estate in the south of Dudley for over 10 years.
The current committee have longed for the means to produce a newsletter to enable them to inform their 900 households what is happening in the area and how people can have their say.
Two of the group recently attended a conference in Bordeaux, and are using the laptop to create presentation materials so that they can feedback to their group, the local Tenants Association, the Steering Group for the project and the Leader of Dudley Council.

This was the first home match of the season for the all-fl dress code East London team, who had been in training to hit the season running.
Hawbush made the 3 mile trip from Ilford looking fresh, resplendent in blue and red and raring to go.
The meeting got underway with Hawbush getting the better of the results and ending up winners of the 1st Division races but not without a great deal of resistance and fight from the never-say-die East London team.

Expectations were quite high from both teams, Hawbush tracking a blend of experience and youth with Coventry relying on strength in depth to cover for the working Jez Hughes and the injured Irish International, Joe McLaughlin.
The scoreline rather flattered Coventry in the end, as Hawbush battled all the way, but were rather undone by the slippery surface, although one wag commented that it was better than the three inches of mud that he'd tried to race through against Leicester a few weeks before!
Thanks go to Hawbush for their sportsmanship and Coventry now have to put their strongest team together in preparation for the visit of Wednesfield in the quarter final.

Schools across Hertfordshire have been involved in Walk to School Week and it would be interesting to know if you have noticed any changes in traffic patterns at school times during this week.
For those of you who have enjoyed walking and wish to begin using the Walking Bus, a reminder that they leave from Carleton Rise on a Tuesday and Thursday and from Hawbush Rise on a Thursday only after half-term.
The Tuesday service from Hawbush Rise will stop as it has not been as well used as the Thursday service.

 Brettell One Name Study
Brettell, the settlement, now called Hawbush, is due north of Amblecote (West Midlands).
Paul Henzey, a Protestant Lorrainer and glassmaster, escaped from France with other Frenchmen in the late 16th century and went to the 'Stourbridge' area when King James Ist put a ban on Glassmakers using charcoal for their furnaces in 1617.
The Henzey family made Brettell their main home and intermarried with the local families including the Brettell's.

St Paul's Hawbush, has just begun a new chapter in its life, originally built in 1954, it is situated between Wordsley and Brierley Hill.
The area it serves, is in a social deprivation area, and has suffered many problems over recent years.
To encourage those who use, the Church and Community Centre, to see it as a place where they are valued, both in the community, and by God through Jesus Christ, and thus fulfil the Mission Statement of the Team Parish of Wordsley.

 Gaddesden Estate - Halsey & Partners
The herd is extensively grazed on permanent pasture, managed under the Countryside Stewardship Scheme, and housed in winter on straw in a purpose built, well ventilated building at Hawbush Farm.
The Gaddesden Home Farm, which was taken back in hand in 1870, has a long history of livestock production.
A pedigree Hereford herd was run until the 1960s when, coupled with the expansion of the dairy herd, a barley beef unit was established at Upperwood and Hawbush Farms in partnership with Yeoman Beef and ran for about 20 years.
